Supporting the Life-Altering Gift of a Trinity Education

Christine Lee Bolletino ’68

Christine Lee Bolletino ’68 has experienced more than most when it comes to Trinity High School. While the progression of parochial education led to her first steps on campus as a freshman, her profound belief in the value of a Sinsinawa Dominican education led to her professional return.

Even as a student at an impressionable age, Chris realized the unique advantage of Trinity’s supportive all-girls environment. “We were guided to excel and offered opportunities to disagree and make our point.” she recalls. “We stood out among our peers at other schools as leaders and girls who spoke our minds.” In addition to a strong education and strong sense of self, Chris gained lifelong friendships during her four years at Trinity. “I still have the friends that I made between 1964 and 1968!”

With a deep appreciation for her education, in 1997 Chris returned to Trinity—serving first as an advisor and member of the Board of Directors and then as Trinity’s first Vice President of Institutional Advancement. During her professional career at Trinity, Chris’ belief in the value of a Trinity education was affirmed each day as she walked the halls among the students. Through her position on Trinity’s executive leadership team, Chris was also acutely aware of the financial struggles of many of the students’ families.

“As a student, I was unaware of fellow classmates’ financial situations. In my professional position at Trinity, I recognized the challenges faced by families who either could not afford to register their daughters or were sadly unable to continue their education at Trinity due to lack of finances.”

Seeing each young woman flourish in Trinity’s supportive environment, yet knowing the financial struggles of many families, inspired Chris and her husband Mike to include Trinity in their estate plan. “Our hope is that our gift will ensure that young women facing financial challenges can attend Trinity or sustain their enrollment.”

A consummate supporter of Trinity’s mission, Chris hopes that her and Mike’s planned gift will encourage other alumnae to think of Trinity when making their estate plans. “Please pay the opportunities that you experienced forward!” asks Chris. “Give a gift that affords a young woman the life-altering gift of a Trinity education!”
